Introduction
The Board of Management of Coláiste Pobail Osraí plays a central role in the management and leadership of the school. Under the patronage of Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board, the Board ensures that the school is managed in accordance with national legislation, Department of Education guidelines, and the policies of the Education and Training Board. .
Functions of the Board of Management
- Ensure legal compliance in accordance with Department of Education regulations and KCETB policies.
- Promote school spirit, particularly immersion education through Irish.
- Strategic planning and review of school policies (e.g. admissions, behaviour).
- Oversee the implementation of the School Plan and improvement strategies.
- Protect the welfare of students and foster a safe, inclusive environment.
- Support the Principal in the management and leadership of the school.
- Support teaching and learning through strategic planning.
- Involve the school community, including parents and students.
- Ensure accountability in all management decisions and actions.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all Board business.
Composition of the Board
The Board members are representatives of parents, school staff, the ETB, and the local community. The Principal acts as Secretary to the Board.

The current Board was appointed in Autumn 2024 and its term will be for four years.
