I ndiadh go leor cleachtadh agus cluichí cispheile i mbliana, bhí bua an Mháirt seo (2ú Feabhra) tuillte go maith ag buachaillí an dara bhliain.   Bhí dian-chosaint le feiscint ón dá foireann tríd an cluiche go hiomlán agus ach ar éigean a raibh aon difiríocht idir na scóranna ag deireadh an cluiche.  Chríochnaigh sé 22 pointe do Choláiste Pobail Osraí in aghaidh 20 pointe do Comeragh.  Pádraig Ó Fearghaíl agus Rónán de Buitléar a d’aimsigh formhór mhór na scórannaí do Choláiste Pobail Osraí.  Do Comeragh bhí an cluiche ag Seán Dunphy a scórál 11 pointe.  Ach is sár iarracht na himreoirí uille a bhain an cluiche le gach aoinne ag déanamh a seacht ndícheall sa chosaint agus an pasáil le feiscint san ionsaí.  Tá sé thar-am go mbeadh bua mar seo againn agus táthar ag súil go ndéanfaidh na buachaillí nós as buachaint.

Ní raibh an rath chéanna ar bhuachaillí an chéad bhliain.  In ainneoin tréan iarracht chaill siad a gcluiche 18 pointe in aghaidh 8.  Is léir go bhfuil tuilleadh obair de dhíth ar na buachaillí seo go háirithe san ionsaí óir ainneoin an talan atá sa bhfoireann ní raibh aon rian dó le feiscint ar an scór.

This Tuesday’s Roinn C 2nd Year Boys basketball win (2nd February) follows a great deal of practice and matches this year.  The win was well deserved by the boys who have shown commendable diligence in training so far.  Both teams displayed strong defences and the final score was kept relatively low.  Indeed only the smallest margin separated the two teams at the end of the match.   It ended 22 points to CPO and 20 points for Comeragh.  Pádraig Ó Fearghaíl and Rónán de Buitléir made the majority of CPOs scores while Seán Dunphy was pivotal for Comeragh making a total of 11 points.  Nevertheless, it was the huge effort made by each and every player that stepped onto the court that brought this overdue win.  We are hoping that the boys will make a habit of this…

The first year boys were not so lucky.  In spite of a strong effort they lost their match 18 points to 8.  Clearly they have a lot of work to do, particularly in offence where in spite of abundant talent they failed to make any impact on the scoreline.
